Call to Worship

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?— He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip. For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing to your name… Great salvation he brings to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his offspring forever. – Psalm 18:2-3, 33-36, 50

Corporate Confession

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? (We) desire and do not have, so (we) murder. (We) covet and cannot obtain, so (we) fight and quarrel. (We) do not have, because (we) do not ask. 3 (We) ask and do not receive, because (we) ask wrongly, to spend it on (our) passions. – from James 4:1-3

Assurance of Pardon

Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. – Galatians 3:23-29

Benediction

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
