Call to Worship
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. – Psalm 92:1-3
Blessed is the man whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirt there is no deceit. For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. – Psalm 32:1-4
Assurance of Pardon
I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin… I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Psalm 32:5, Galatians 2:20
Now may the LORD bless you with a fresh awareness of your lot in the gospel; that although you were dead in your trespasses, deserving the full and total wrath of God, you have been forgiven and resurrected in Christ. May you be animated with gratitude for grace, and the power of the Holy Spirit, to demonstrate the gospel to those around you to the praise of the glorious grace of our Triune God. Amen.
