Anchor Our Hearts (NEW SONG – Lyrics below)
Call to Worship
Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant!
For I know that the Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants. – Psalm 135:1-3,13-14
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. – Proverbs 28:13
Assurance of Pardon
But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?'” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?'” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in you’r heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. – Romans 10:6-13
Emmaus, may God’s love for your souls compel you to share that love with other. Let Gods’ love show forth in how you live, how you serve, and how you obey, to the furtherance of the gospel, and to the expansion of Gods kingdom.
Anchor Our Hearts (Lyrics)
Gracious God above, in Your boundless love
For the sake of Jesus, Your Son
Show us mercy, Lord, grace we can’t afford
For our sin has left us undone
And so we come, restless within
Tossed by the waves, blown by the wind
Now here we are, lost in our sin
Drifting so far, from where we began (where we began)
In our pain and grief, in our unbelief
In our sorrow, loss, and despair
In our pride and fall, though we’re weak and small
And we follow the world’s empty cares
Lord, now we come, oft we have strayed
But by the blood, mercy remains
Lord, lead us back, into Your arms
When faith we lack, anchor our hearts (anchor our hearts)
Against You alone have we sinned, O Lord
All our trespasses, please forgive.
God, we look to You, for Your Word is true
In Your ways, our hearts You have set
For You have come, poured out Your life
We’re washed in Your Word, You’ve called us Your bride
Now we are Yours, forgiven and free
We are Your church, You are our King (You are our King)
We stand amazed, in the light of Your grace (x 4)
