Call to Worship
gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and your saints shall bless your name. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever. – Psalm 145:3, 8-13, 18, 21
“But he gives more grace. Therefore, it says, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you double-minded.” – James 4:8
Assurance of Pardon
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for he who promised is faithful. – Hebrews 10:19-23
Brothers and sisters may your hearts be strengthened in the joy of your salvation this week. May your good works be compelled by the love of Christ and may the grace of God be your refuge.
